Next up on Marvel Studios roster of animated series at SDCC is the hotly anticipated Spider-Man: Freshman Year. News on the series comes hot on the heels of X-Men ’97 and Marvel Zombies news we got late last night.
Freshman Year, first announced on Disney+ day last year, will sadly not be hitting out screens anytime soon. During the panel it was confirmed that the prequel to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy won’t be making its debut until 2024. Holland also won’t be returning to voice the titular character.
One Marvel actor who will be returning for the series though is Charlie Cox. Yes, it was confirmed that Daredevil will play a role in the series with Cox returning to voice the character he first played over on Netflix. It was also confirmed that Dr. Octavius, Chameleon, Speed Demon, Scorpion, and Butane the Pyromaniac. Additionally, Harry Osborn and Amadeus Cho will appear in the series.
It has also been revealed that a second season will soon enter production under the name Sophmore Year.
