After over ten years, the Jackass gang are finally back! After an incredibly successful run in cinemas, the fourth and potentially final Jackass movie, Jackass Forever, now available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital, here’s why Johnny Knoxville’s latest is not just one of the best films of the year but a comedy classic in the making.
Celebrating the joy of being back together with your best friends and a perfectly executed shot to the dingdong, the original jackass crew return for another round of hilarious, wildly absurd and often dangerous displays of comedy with a little help from some exciting new cast members.
There is only one word to describe Jackass Forever: insanity. Everything that happens in this film just outdoes the thing you had seen previously, resulting in one of the stupidest climaxes ever put on film. Jackass is just one of those franchises where no matter how old this gang is, they will go that extra mile to break (nearly) every bone in their bodies to entertain the audience. There’s no plot to these Jackass movies (aside from the spinoff Bad Grandpa) but these are the perfect movies to watch with friends and the fourth film might be the best yet.
From a Godzilla-like opening to seeing Steve-O’s dong being attacked by a swarm of bees, there’s a ton of ridiculous moments in Jackass Forever that are very memorable. There is nothing in this film like anything you’ve seen before. It’s ninety minutes of craziness that leaves you in stitches once the movie has ended because you’ve laughed so much. Very simple.
The Blu-ray of the fourth Jackass movie also comes with an abundance of never-before-seen stunts, including: tarantula bite, face your rear, dark shark and the bear, fire in the hole, broke Zach mountain, virtual reality, plug and arrow, the breakaway, soccer ball surprise, Poopies only wipes twice, fire extinguisher, Wee Man throws Zach under the bus, toilet geyser and telephone pole (with Susan and Millie).
Just like the previous Jackass entries, Jackass Forever is the quintessential movie to watch with a bunch of mates. There is little sense to be made in this film yet its simplistic premise allows for insanity to play out in the best way possible. These films are special and this latest movie with Knoxville and the gang shows that there is friendship at the centre of these movies amidst the stupidity. Seeing Johnny Knoxville chase director Jeff Tremaine around a field with a taser is ridiculous but just the sort of fun you expect from a film like this. It is easily already a favourite from 2022.
Paramount Pictures presents Jackass Forever now available on Digital, DVD & Blu-ray.
