Review
Issue #12 sees the continuation of the Demon vs Detective arc, we see Robin in a contemplating mood looking into the horizon, there are important choices to be made.
Robin returns to Gotham but it’s not a Gotham he left things have changed and it may not be changes for the better. With no Batman and the one person Robin looked to for support Pennyworth gone, it is time for Robin to step up but he must first fight his own demons with himself and his own family. This is a dark time for Gotham and maybe a darker time for Robin.
Joshua Williamson brings a story that typically defines the DC model, a thoughtful and dark story that rebuilds the arc that looks set to be going in a newer more darker direction. The illustrations from Roger Cruz perfectly capture the overall mood of the book with each page an emotional tapestry blending together the words from Williamson.
Verdict
Robin #12 is a deeply dark and emotional story. It’s great to see one of my favourite DC characters hogging the limelight and Damian does it so well. A captivating read for DC fans.
