We’re kicking off our countdown to Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves’ The Batman with a series of brand new videos diving in to the history of DC’s Dark Knight.
In this first video we’re taking a look at the history and development of one of the most famous vehicles in pop culture history, the Batmobile. We’re charting the journey of Batman’s wheels from its first appearance in comics right through to the upcoming version in Matt Reeves’ movie.
We bet you didn’t know the exhaust on Adam West’s legendary Batman 66 Batmobile was simply a paint can? Or that when Tim Burton first saw a working design for Michael Keaton’s Batmobile that it had no doors… you learn something new every day!

Written and directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is set to star Robert Pattinson in the title role, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton.
The film is currently slated to hit UK cinemas on March 2, 2022. It’s global rollout hits US theatres on March 4, 2022.
