After debuting in the end credits of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Marvel Studios has finally – officially – released the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It certainly looks like the spell Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) cast for Peter Parker is causing a lot more trouble than expected.
In the trailer Strange pleads, “But I never meant for any of this happen,” as viewers see glimpses of an abandoned Sanctum Sanctorum, mayhem in the streets, Christine Palmer’s wedding to someone other than Strange, Wanda Maximoff’s (Elizabeth Olsen) glowing hands, and a battered Wong.
We’ve known for a while that Strange would be teaming up with Wanda but now we have a much better idea as to why and it isn’t related to the incident in Westview. Watch the full trailer in the player below:
Directed by Sam Raimi, the film stars the returning Benedict Cumberbatch alongside Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Xochitl Gomez and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff.
Doctor Strange The Multiverse of Madness is set for release May 6, 2022.
