Review
Issue #324 brings us back to what I call the true Spawn experience. Putting the reader in the middle of a goblin bloodbath when a somewhat confused Marc emerges to discover that he’s again transported into the world of Spawn along with Jim who once again feels the unstable powers within coming out to the forefront, the war from the forces of heaven is on and this time it isn’t in the shadows, is it time for Marc and Jim to fully embrace the inner “Spawn” and fight for the Hellspawn? A guaranteed blood bath is upon us and it most definitely won’t be pretty. The forces of heaven and hell have always fought in the shadows and never spilled into the open before, this war is going to be an epic scale battle.
Todd McFarlane has yet again brought an iconic story to what is becoming an ever evolving multiverse, in the way that only Todd can do the Spawn story arc just gets better with every reincarnation of the story, there can’t be many stories that are over 300 issues in and still stronger than ever.
The illustrations brought to the pages by the artistic talents of Carlo Barberi showing off the iconic Spawn story in all it’s gorey detail, when you pick up a Spawn comic you know what you are going to get an intense story with blood and guts on every page and this issue certainly doesn’t disappoint and long may it continue.
Verdict
Well this issue proves that some things just get better with time and Spawn certainly is just getting better each and every issue, with the creative team the driving force behind this I’m sure it’s just going to go from strength to strength.
