Review
Issue #2 of Gunslinger Spawn brings us back into the iconic comic universe of Spawn. Gunslinger Spawn continues to tell the story of the Gunslinger character as he continues his mission to find Bartlett as he holds the answers.
In typical Spawn fashion this isn’t a leisurely search mission, there’s going to be blood and lots of it, the story goes forward with what I can only describe as one of the most intense battles I’ve read in comic form, an angel hit squad sent to take out Spawn with what can only be described as a bloody meeting between the two. Something big is revealed in the battle that could change the overall story arc in dramatic fashion, something big is definitely on the way.
Being the only writer to really know Spawn Todd McFarlane is truly the perfect writer to take this Spawn multiverse forward, each page is filled with dramatic twists and turns that mesmerises you to the page, once you pick the book up it is literally impossible to not read it all in one hit. I’m looking forward to see what’s instore for Gunslinger Spawn.
The dramatic and graphic detail that has gone into the illustrations is a credit to Brett Booth and his work each page is an artwork in itself. The dramatic tone of each page brings the world of Spawn to life in the perfect way, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again McFarlane and Booth are the perfect creative partnership to take this story arc forward.
Verdict
Another great addition to the story arc of King Spawn, interesting to see where this arc will go going forward as from what I’ve read it looks like something big may be on the way.
