Though the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has yet to premiere on TV it seems the studio is feeling confident in its latest live-action offering. A new listing in Production Weekly (picked up by SpoilerTV) lists a second season as ready to shoot.
There’s been no official word from Paramount or CBS at the time of writing. But according to the listing cameras will begin rolling on a second season in February 2022. Strange New Worlds follows the continuing adventures of the USS Enterprise, NCC-1701, before the days of James T. Kirk.
The series is currently set to premiere in early 2022 on Paramount+ in the US.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.
