During yesterday’s Star Trek Day celebrations we finally got our first full-length look at the latest animated Trek series, Star Trek: Prodigy. The trailer (below) gives fans a first look at the returning Kate Mulgrew in action as Captain Kathryn Janeway.
It has also been confirmed the series will begin streaming from October 28th and will debut with a one-hour premiere.

It looks like much of the footage seem here comes from early in the series. We see plenty of establishing shots as the crew of the USS Protostar get to grips with their brand new ride. part of bringing the ship to life includes activating the holographic Janeway who soon introduces herself.
There’s also plenty of action as the crew visit strange new worlds in the Delta Quadrant. We get a first glimpse at a Kazon character as well as more footage of the series villains, he Diviner (also father of Gwyn) voiced by John Noble, plus our second look at his robot minion Drednok, voiced by Jimmi Simpson.Â
Developed for TV by Kevin and Dan Hageman, Star Trek: Prodigy stars Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Angus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, Dee Bradley Baker and Jason Mantzoukas. The series also marks the return of Kate Mulgrew as a holographic version of Captain Janeway.
