Universal Pictures Candyman is scaring audiences across the globe. But what went in to putting together this beautiful contemporary take on the classic horror icon?
The studio has released a behind-the-scenes featurette, aptly called “A Look Inside,” as director Nia DaCosta and co-writer/producer Jordan Peele discuss crafting the movie.
In our review Matt said the film is “a fantastically crafted slasher movie, setting it apart from others by giving the ‘slasher’ a sentimental backstory as well as blending the urban myth to the racial issues.”

Candyman stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Teyonah Parris, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Colman Domingo. Directed by Nia DaCosta based on a screenplay written with Jordan Peele and Win Rosenfeld. The film is in UK cinemas now.
