Fans of Dragula and drag will be relieved to hear that AMC’s horror streaming service, Shudder has finally confirmed the release date for the hotly anticipated fourth season of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula. The first episode of the newest series will premiere on Tuesday the 19th of October, the spookiest month of the year, with a new episode premiering every Tuesday thereafter.
The ground-breaking show shocked the world when it premiered in 2016 as a YouTube series and was so loved and successful, a remastered and expanded version of Season one was ordered by Canadian channel OutTV and was then picked up by various streaming services and channels across English-speaking territories. Season four marks the first time the show will be available at the same time in all English-speaking territories.
Season four brings another, very welcome, change; previously the grand prize for winning was $20,000 or $25,000. This year it has been quadrupled to a huge $100,000, plus the usual title of “Dragula, The World’s Next Drag Supermonster”, of course. The Boulet Brothers said this season is “absolutely the best season of the show we’ve ever produced.” And looking at the incredible line-up of guest judges, it’s easy to see why; Vanessa Hudgens, Poppy, Bob the Drag Queen, Orville Peck, and many more! The hosts say this season will be a “game changer for televised drag.”
In the show, 10 Drag artists compete in various horrific (in a good way!) challenges to display their art and survive another week to get closer to that $100,000. It’s safe to say you don’t want to miss this season which is “bigger and bolder than ever- the diverse cast, the judges, the drag art, the horror, the competitions, and everything in-between”, said Shudder’s General Manager, Craig Engler.
The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula season 4 releases on Shudder on the 19th October.
