SPIDER-MAN 3 cast troll fans with fake titles

In a strategic and coordinated attack, the cast of Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man 3 tricked fans with multiple possible title cards. Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, and Zendaya each took to Instagram to post a different title. While fans were left absolutely baffled and confused, we did receive three different images of the trio straight from the film. So it wasn’t all bad, right?

First to send the fandom into a meltdown was Tom Holland who claimed that Spider-Man 3 would be called Spider-Man: Phone Home keeping with the classic “Home” theme. With a bold green font, the title is a clear reference to Spielberg’s ET. If there was any truth to this title, and it’s possible there still could be, it could allude to Spidey leaving earth. More specifically, visiting a different earth.

The accompanying image shows the trio looking at something. All three of them seem to look incredibly concerned. What could they be looking at?

Next to join was the brilliant Jacob Batalon who plays Peter’s best friend Ned. According to Batalon, Spider-Man 3 would be called Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker. The image that Batalon shared shows the trio in some sort of underground building which looks old and decrepit. To us, it looks like the three are on the run. With Spider-Man’s identity out in the open, could the group be in more danger this time round?

Finally, the wonderful Zendaya chipped in. According to MJ herself, the third film in the series will be called Spider-Man: Home Slice. Much like Batalon’s image, Zendaya’s image shows the friends in the same worn out building looking at Ned’s laptop. What could they be looking at?

As of now, we don’t actually know what Spider-Man 3 will be called. Considering that the main cast is now teasing it, it’s likely that we’ll receive the official title very soon. It’s also likely that the titles suggested above are simply jokes. Although there’s still a chance that one of them could be correct. With that in mind, which one do you prefer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Directed once again by Jon Watts, the Untitled Spider-Man 3 film will hit screens December 17, 2021.
