WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen recently appeared on the Vanity Fair’s Still Watching Podcast and discussed Wanda’s arc in the MCU. Olsen is currently gearing up to the return of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness alongside the returning Benedict Cumberbatch.
Speaking of Wanda’s introduction to the MCU, Olsen discussed taking on the role after reading the script for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
“And now, I’m excited for the next thing… I just signed on because I liked the character, because of the comics, and I thought the Age of Ultron story was really powerful and fun, angsty and rebellious, and really an honourable story to tell,”
But following on from the wholly unique Disney+ series WandaVision it seems that Olsen has a whole new perspective on the character and her time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“Now, it’s this completely new thing that it never was at the beginning. The transition from WandaVision to Doctor Strange 2, I just feel like it’s all so earned.”
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to go in to production later in 2021 and is due in cinemas March 25, 2022.
