This week has truly been a treat for Kaiju fans. We finally got to witness the first trailer for Godzilla vs Kong and now we have a brand new anime series heading our way. That’s right, Netflix and Legendary are teaming up again to bring us an anime series centered on Skull Island and its inhabitants… including the King himself, Kong. They also announced a Tomb Raider anime. If you missed that, you can catch up right here.
According to the announcement, the series fill follow a shipwrecked crew who find themselves stuck on Skull Island. This series will be part of the MonsterVerse so it will be great to see that expand beyond the movies.

The animation studio, Powerhouse Animation, has previously worked on shows like Castlevania and the more recent Blood of Zeus which follows Heron and his quest to save Olympus.
Apart from that, not much is actually known about the series itself. It’s safe to say that we’ll get to see more of Kong continuing his role as the protector of Skull Island. We’ll probably see more from the Skullcrawlers. But since the MonsterVerse is opening up more, it’s likely that we will be introduced to more titans and monsters. We can’t wait.
