With the latest in planned Disney+ Marvel series announced She-Hulk, recent news has broke that a new director and executive producer has been bought on board in the shape of Kat Coiro.
A reputable TV and film director, her CV holding names such as Netflix’s Dead To Me, Showtime’s Shameless and FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, along with Modern Family, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Mozart in the Jungle among others. Coiro will be teaming up with Ricky and Morty writer Jessica Gao who will head up the writing.
The series is just one of a handful of anticipated series Marvel Studios is working on for Disney+, with The Falcon and Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki all in production and set to launch in the next year. There is no timescale for when production on She-Hulk will begin as execs and Coiro now need to find their actress to play the part.
She-Hulk was the last major character to be co-created by Stan Lee, She-Hulk is Jennifer Walters, an attorney and cousin of Bruce Banner, aka The Hulk. An emergency blood transfusion from her cousin gave Walters her powers, but unlike Banner/Hulk, She-Hulk was able to keep her intelligence and personality when she Hulked out.
