BREAKING: AMC confirms THE WALKING DEAD to end in 2022

Breaking news this afternoon as AMC has confirmed The Walking Dead will be coming to an end in 2022.

In a statement the network confirmed that season 11 will be the finale season of the show. The 11th and final season will consist of a massive 24 episodes, with the first half airing in 2021 and the second half in 2022.

It will be followed in 2023 by a new spin-off focussing on the characters of Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Caryl (Melissa McBride). An anthology series, tentatively titled Tales of The Walking Dead is also in development.

The long delayed finale of The Walking Dead season 10 will air on AMC in the US on October 4, 2020. It was also recently revealed during the series Comic-Con@Home panel that after the finale airs, six additional episodes of Season 10 will be filmed and air in 2021.
