A new Legend of Zelda game is in development. This installment in the franchise is set 100 years before the events of the critically acclaimed Breath of the Wild. This means that we will actually see how the events of the Great Calamity unraveled. How exciting and devastating is that? Welcome to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Nintendo announced Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity with an announcement trailer that dropped earlier today. The trailer gives fans an insight into the story and the playable characters. That’s right, you won’t just be playing as Link. Players will also be able to take control of Zelda, as well as the Four Champions: Urbosa, Revali, Mipha, and Daruk.
Check out the trailer here!
Players will be able to experience the Great Calamity first hand and we can’t wait. You’ll be able to experience Hyrule in a new light. Before Ganon reduced it to rubble and before Link disappeared.
What excites us the most is revisiting the same visual style used in Breath of the Wild. The game was a visual triumph. Seeing Hyrule in pristine condition with the characters we wish were around more in Botw is going to be a lot of fun. It’s also going to open up a new and exciting avenue…
Despite the familiarity of Hyrule, players will be introduced to a new style of play as you face off against waves of unrelenting enemies. New environmental puzzles, weapons, and materials await you as you fight against the Great Calamity to save Hyrule. You’ll be able to experiment with the various characters and weapons as you make your way through the rich landscapes.
Nintendo promises a new and exciting experience with all of the action, heart and in-depth storytelling that made Breath of the Wild shine.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is due out on November 20th and can be preordered on the Nintendo store right now. Be sure to check out more gaming news here. More information about Hyrule Warriors is set to drop on 26th September. Keep your eyes peeled.
