Though it might not be the first place you think to look for an in-depth interview with Hollywood’s elite, LadBible recently scored itself an interesting interview The Batman and Venom 2’s Andy Serkis.
Whilst it’s still early days on The Batman, Serkis was able to talk about the tone of the film and Matt Reeve’s script.
“I would say that’s not far from the truth,” he started. “It’s very much about the emotional connection between Alfred and Bruce. That’s really at the centre of it. And it is a really exquisite script that Matt has written.”
“You find it for yourself,” Serkis continued. “It’s like playing these iconic roles in Shakespeare, you go back, you revisit them and you have to make it your own, and see what it is about he character that connects with you and your personal venn diagram.”
Serkis also touched on how far along he was in filming his part before production was shut down adding: “I was literally half way through shooting my part in it when we got shut down. So it will be interesting to see when that resurfaces how it has been affected by it [lockdown]. But it is, it’s going to be a beautiful film.”
Written and directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is set to star Robert Pattinson in the title role, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton.
The Batman is due for release October 1, 2021.
