Some exciting news on Warner Bros. The Suicide Squad today with the announcement that acclaimed composer Tyler Bates will be scoring the upcoming DC Films release
Film Music Reporter is carrying the story that Bates is re-teaming with director James Gunn to take on the project. Gunn and Bates previous worked together on both Guardians of the Galaxy movies.
Bates other credits include The Punisher series on Netflix, John Wick 3, Deadpool 2, Watchmen, Atomic Blonde and 300. His work has a strong sense of epic storytelling alongside a huge depth of emotion so we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table here!
The film continues the slow process of post-production in isolation but we hope to get our first look once life begins to return to normal.
Returning from Suicide Squad are Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang).
Officially joining them are David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi,, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchoir, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker.
The Suicide Squad (aka Suicide Squad 2) is aiming for an August 6, 2021 release date.
