Warner Bros. has shrugged off rumours of a digital only release for Wonder Woman 1984 by releasing a batch of new stills from the film which give us some great new looks at the cast.
Over the weekend rumours surfaced that Wonder Woman 1984 was being considered for a digital only release to avoid shifting the film from its June 5 due date.
At the time it was understood that Patty Jenkins had yet to be involved in conversations but that WB execs were looking to avoid shifting the film by bringing it to digital services across the globe in a world first. Though this was said to be in the works, rumours stressed that Warner were very much still looking to give the film a theatrical release.
Well WB, of course, came out swinging and denied those rumours. Alongside denying them the studio debuted these new images from the film. Some are hi-res looks at moments we’ve seen before but there are also some new looks at Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal in action.
Gal Gadot returns in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in Wonder Woman 1984. The film also stars Kristen Wiig in the role of the Super-Villain The Cheetah, as well as Pedro Pascal. And Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor. The film is directed by Patty Jenkins.
Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film. Rebecca Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Walter Hamada are the executive producers.
Wonder Woman 1984 is set to hit cinemas on June 5, 2020.
