A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at what the world of Superman & Lois might look like when it hits screens as part of the 2020/21 TV season. Today more details of the series’ pilot have surfaced online and it seems The CW is taking a different spin on the Superman mythos.
According to Primetimer Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin) will have been laid off from The Daily Planet when we catch up with him. But it turns out losing his job isn’t the worst of the problems the Man of Steel will be facing. Clark soon hears his mother calling out for him from Smallville, but when he gets home, she’s already dead from unspecified causes at the Kent Farm.
It seems in this continuity Jonathan Kent is already long since passed. All of this is tied to the mysterious villain who will introduced in the pilot episode.
The site also understands that Superman & Lois (by way of Crisis On Infinite Earths) will be resurrecting ex-Supergirl villain Morgan Edge for the series. Edge appeared in four episodes of season 3 and was played by Adrian Pasdar.
Superman & Lois is expected to debut later in 2020.
