This is not a drill! Overnight director Matt Reeves has shared an intense and awesome first look at Robert Pattinson in his Batsuit from The Batman. The video comes from a camera test and features a very atmospheric piece of music from the film’s composer, Michael Giacchino.
A few key details are missing from the camera test such as the length of the ears on the cowl, the length of the cape and also the colours. But we do get a great idea about the overall style of the costume.
The Bat-symbol on his chest appears almost like a removable Batarang, whilst the cowl features stitching around the outside which gives it a much less armoured and much more leather feel. Could this confirm that Pattinson’s Batman is early in his career?
Written and directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman is set to star Robert Pattinson in the title role, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon and Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Nygma.
The Batman is due for release on June 25, 2021.
