Last month it was confirmed that director Scott Derrickson had exited Marvel Studios Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and overnight a new rumour has put an unexpected name in the frame to take over.
Variety reports that original Spider-Man trilogy director, Sam Raimi, is now said to be in talks with Disney and Marvel Studios to take on the project.
Little more is known about the project aside from a proposed production start of May. This would only give Raimi three months prep time if the film is to remain on schedule.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for a May 7, 2021 release date.
