This week the press gets a first look at the upcoming Star Trek: Picard. The series debuts on CBS All Access in North America on January 23, before moving to Amazon Prime in international territories from 24, January.
There have been rumblings for a couple of weeks that the series has been picked up for a second season. But now CBS EVP and Head of Original Content, Julie McNamara, has confirmed the news.
“The energy and excitement around the premiere of Star Trek: Picard has reached a magnitude greater than all of us at CBS All Access could have hoped for,” said McNamara. “We’re thrilled to announce plans for a second season before the series’ debut, and we are confident that Star Trek fans and new viewers alike will be captured by the stellar cast and creative team’s meticulously crafted story.”

Star Trek: Picard is set to star Patrick Stewart, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora and will debut on CBS All Access on January 23, 2020 followed by a release on Amazon Prime in the UK and internationally on January 24.
