Warner Bros., Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix received some very good news this morning as Joker picked up a huge eleven nominations for this year’s BAFTA Awards.
The film picked up nominations for: Best Film; Best Director for Todd Phillips, Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix, Best Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir, Best Hair & Makeup, Sound Design, Production Design, Cinematography, Adapted Screenplay, Casting and Editing.
The film picked up the most nominations of any film in this year’s competition which is a huge achievement for all involved. The ceremony takes place on February 2, 2020.
Over at Disney, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame picked up a nomination in the Best VFX category where it is pitted against The Lion King, 1917, The Irishman and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It is executive produced by Richard Baratta, Joseph Garner and Bruce Berman.
The film stars Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, also starring are Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
