We had anticipated that Matt Reeves The Batman would begin filming in the coming weeks. Owners of the huge hangers in Cardington, outside London, have been teasing the construction of a huge cathedral set which is to be used for a funeral. But yesterday we were all taken by surprise when set photos surfaced from a central London shoot.
There’s not a huge amount to see other than a collection of GCPD cops, cars and a few other assorted Gotham vehicles. If we can take anything away from this it’s that the film has a classic vibe which feels similar to Tim Burton’s Batman ’89.
