A huge congratulations goes out from all of us here at GYCO to Warner Bros., Todd Phillips, Joaquin Phoenix and everyone involve with Joker. The film has now officially crossed $1 billion at the global box office following another strong weekend.
According to BoxOfficeMojo, Joker landed in eighth place at the domestic box office this week. In doing so the film took an estimated $5.6m for a huge domestic total reaching $322.6m.
The film further added $13m internationally this weekend for an overseas total of $694m and a global tally reaching an incredibly impressive $1.017b based on that $50m(ish) production budget.
Joker becomes the fourth DC Comics adaption to cross $1b alongside The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises and Aquaman and is the 43rd film overall to cross the landmark.

The film is being produced by Phillips and Bradley Cooper under their Joint Effort banner, and Emma Tillinger Koskoff. It is executive produced by Richard Baratta, Joseph Garner and Bruce Berman.
The film stars Joaquin Phoenix in the title role, also starring are Zazie Beetz, Bill Camp, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Douglas Hodge, Marc Maron, Josh Pais, and Shea Whigham.
