Joker (Warner Bros.)

Victory was short lived for Warner Bros. Joker today, after being declared the winner at least weekends domestic box office the final numbers have confirmed the film remained in second place behind Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

The numbers of Sunday put the Todd Philips film just $400k ahead of the Angelina Jolie sequel. But now the final receipts have been counted the numbers have swung the other way.

Maleficent brought in a final tally of $19.37m compared to the DC Comics adaptation’s $19.24m. That puts the finally difference at a Meer $130k and that’s a pretty close call if you ask us!
