Director James Gunn teased last week that an announcement on the cast of The Suicide Squad was coming. Well, late on Friday night that announcement arrived and with it the confirmation of several actors involvement with the film.
We finally got confirmation that Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flagg), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) would be returning from the first film.
Officially joining them are David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Joaquin Cosio, Nathan Fillion, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi,, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchoir, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker.
Now that’s a huge cast and Gunn has been careful not to reveal the roles. In fact the director later tweeted that he won’t formally be announcing the roles of many of these new cast members for some time, if at all.
