HBO has finally announced when we’ll be able to see the highly anticipated new Watchmen TV series. After months of speculation and several short teasers and trailers we now know the series will debut in North America on October 20, 2019.
Watchmen is based upon the seminal comic book series by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. But series creator Damon Lindelof has warned fans of the source material that Watchmen will not rehash the comic book like-for-like. Rather, Lindelof describes it as a “remix” that will take inspiration from the original story. We understand that within the world of the show, the events depicted in the comic happened decades ago.
Excited? We sure are!

Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith, and Adelynn Spoon. The series has been developed for TV by Damon Lindleof.
