One of the biggest announcements from San Diego Comic-Con, I would argue, came when Taika Waititi announced that he would be returning to direct a fourth Thor film, which is unheard of in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Both Iron Man and Captain America received trilogies but with Thor’s fate left open after Avengers: Endgame, it does make sense to continue his story.
The biggest surprise wasn’t just the title or the fact we are getting a new Thor movie, it was actually the fact that Natalie Portman would be returning as Jane Foster who will also be taking the mantle of Thor.
Natalie Portman will be playing Lady Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder will see the return of Waititi, Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and now, Natalie Portman.
During the panel in Hall H, Waititi handed Portman her very own Mjolnir. Although I wonder what weapon she will wield. Since Mjolnir was destoyed by Hela, will we see the return of Mjolnir or the arrival of an entirely new godly weapon.
One thing I do want to see is a team up between Lady Thor and Thor. How epic would that be?
Thor: Love and Thunder is expected to arrive in theaters on November 5th 2021. Unfortunately, it’s quite a long wait.
