It’s been a little while since Birds of Prey wrapped production. Cathy Yan is currently deep in the editing process on 2020’s first DC Films movie but that hasn’t stopped cast member Mary Elizabeth Winstead discussing it in the press.
In a new interview with NY Times the actress touched on the aesthetic of the movie describing a 90s feel and calling Birds of Prey as “genuinely funny”.
Here’s what she had to say:
“In Birds of Prey I play this assassin who’s been trained since childhood. It’s all women and genuinely funny and weird. It feels from the ’90s, in the best way.”
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya. The movie will be directed by Cathy Yan and arrives in cinemas on February 7, 2020.
