Writer-director James Gunn recently sat down with Deadline for an in-depth chat about recent goings on in his career. As well as touching on his firing and subsequent re-hiring by Disney for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Gunn discusses his work on the upcoming The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros.
Though Gunn didn’t give away much detail on the movie he did drop an interesting tidbit on the writing process.
“The Suicide Squad sequel, it just instantly started flowing,” Gunn said. “I don’t think I’ve had as much fun writing a script since maybe Dawn of the Dead. That’s what this whole movie has been like.”
Sounds like Gunn is really enjoying the writing process on this one. Let’s hope that translates well to the big screen when the movie arrives in 2020.
The Suicide Squad (aka Suicide Squad 2)is aiming for an August 6, 2020 release date.
