Here’s some news we didn’t see coming. BOOM! Studios has announced that it will be expanding its Buffy universe with the addition of a new Angel series, starting next week!
Dropping alongside the fourth issue of Buffy will be a special issue #0 which will launch a new on going series from the creative team of Bryan Edward Hill and Gleb Melnikov.
The character will simultaneously debut in the fourth issue of Buffy. Though the book hits stores on April 17, it won’t arrive on digital platforms until May 1.
As BOOM! VP of Marketing Arune Singh explained to CBR, “It’s part of that really cool Joss Whedon tradition where you don’t just have a cliffhanger, but have one last surprise waiting for you,” he explained.
“We looked at this as a natural story point where we could launch an Angel series from Buffy #4, so let’s create that excitement purely as a comic book store event,” he added.
