It seems those rumours Emma Watson was joining the cast of Black Widow may not have been as accurate as we first expected.
THR is reporting that Pugh is in talks with the studio to take on a co-leading role in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie. Initial reports on Watson potentially joining the cast did include Pugh on a shortlist of actresses being looked at by the studio to play an unidentified female spy.
Pugh was most recently seen as wrestler Paige in the critically-acclaimed Fighting with My Family, and up next she’s set to join Emma Watson in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women.
It seems that casting is finally coming together for the movie which was initially rumoured to begin filming in Spring 2019.
Black Widow will see the return of Scarlett Johansson in her first solo outing. The film currently doesn’t have a release date but is expected to occupy the May 1, 2020 release date being held by Marvel Studios.
