Deadline is reporting that Ant-Man and The Wasp star David Dastmalchian has joined the cast of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune remake.

The trade reports that Dastmalchian will be taking on the role of Mentat member Piter De Vries. In the original novel Mentats are basically human computers, and De Vries is a particularly villainous one.

The role was played by Brad Dourif in the 1984 version of the movie. Dastmalchian joins an all-star cast which was also recently added Aquaman star Jason Momoa in a key role.

In the year 10191, a spice called melange is the most valuable substance known in the universe, and its only source is the desert planet Arrakis. A royal decree awards Arrakis to Duke Leto Atreides and ousts his bitter enemies, the Harkonnens. However, when the Harkonnens violently seize back their fiefdom, it is up to Paul (Kyle MacLachlan), Leto’s son, to lead the Fremen, the natives of Arrakis, in a battle for control of the planet and its spice. Based on Frank Herbert’s epic novel.

Dune is set to star Timothee Chalamet in the lead role of Paul Atreides. He will be joined by Javier Bardem as Stilgar,  Zendaya as Chani, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Stellan Skarsgard as Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as “The Beast” Rabban and Charlotte Rampling as the Reverend Mother.
