BATWOMAN finds its Jacob Kane in Dougray Scott

The cast of The CW’s Batwoman pilot seems to be coming together nicely. Today we have the news that Dougray Scott has joined the cast in a key role.

Scott will be portraying Jacob Kane, the father of lead character Kate. Deadline is reporting that this TV incarnation of the character is being described by insiders as:

A former military colonel with a chip on his shoulder for Batman, Jacob Kane now commands Gotham’s private security firm The Crows, and has made it his mission to protect his city better than the Dark Knight ever could. But it’s only a matter of time before his unwavering disdain for vigilantes puts him at odds with Gotham’s new caped crusader…who also happens to be his own daughter.

The report also confirms that David Nutter has been forced to drop out of directing the pilot for personal reasons. It is believed that he will be replaced by The Vampire Diaries Marcos Siega.
