Marvel is currently remaining coy on its upcoming slate of movies in development. Whilst we know they have plans in place for the foreseeable future the studio refuses to discuss those plans until Avengers: Endgame is out in the world.
One movie we do know is on the way is Black Widow. The Cate Shortland directed movie is currently in pre-production with rumours pointing to a spring 2019 shoot.
But what of the movies potential rating? Given the characters background one might expect the movie to be a little more grown up than other Marvel releases.
“When I first heard they were developing the Black Widow film, I also heard they were discussing whether or not to make it Marvel Studios first R-rated film,” says That Hashtag Show’s Charles Murphy.
Could we see a more diverse slate of movies going forwards from Marvel?
Black Widow will see the return of Scarlett Johansson in her first solo outing. The film currently doesn’t have a release date but is expected to occupy the May 1, 2020 release date being held by Marvel Studios.
