According to The Wrap DC Films has an announcement on the way. The site has exclusively revealed that a Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle movie is currently in development at Warner Bros.
It is reported that Scarface reboot scribe Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer has been tapped to write the script, while Zev Foreman is on board as executive producer. At this point the film is only in the very early stages of development so isn’t a sure fire to hit the big screen.
Jaime Reyes is the third incarnation of the Blue Beetle character. Many fans will identify Ted Kord as the most famous DC character to carry the beetle. Reyes was introduced in 2006 during the Infinite Crisis storyline.
No official confirmation has been received from Warner Bros. as yet.
