EW releases first official look at Bane from GOTHAM season 5

Gotham fans are used to the series taking some liberties when it comes to costume design. So it will come as no surprise to see that the first official image of Shane West as Bane is more than a little controversial.

Following a leaked set photo over the weekend EW released the below official portrait of the character. Gone is his trademark wrestling mask, instead replaced by something a little closer to the Nolanverse mask.

Overall the character has a very classic 80s science-fiction movie aesthetic to his look. The padded jack and weird chest plate alluding to the mask supplying him with venom perhaps? Take a look at the image below and let us know what you think of the costume!

Gotham stars Ben McKenzie as James Gordon, Donal Logue as Harvey Bullock and David Mazouz as Bruce Wayne. The series also stars Robin Lord Taylor as Penguin, Erin Richards as Barbara Kean and Sean Pertwee as Alfred Pennyworth.
