Star Trek: Discovery lead Sonequa Martin-Green has been dropping some hints about the shows second season.
The first season ended with the USS Discovery coming face-to-face with a very famous ship. The USS Enterprise. Since that moment fans have been desperate for news as to whether the crew of the Enterprise will interact with Michael Burnham and the rest of the Discovery crew.
We know that Marvel’s Inhumans actor Anson Mount has been cast as Captain Pike. But what about his first officer, Spock?
Martin-Green was asked about whether her adoptive brother will appear:
“You know, Aaron Harberts, he said after the finale, on After Trek, that Season Two was going to be about that line between science and faith,” Martin-Green said. “He also said that there’s going to be a lot of family dynamic. It is the Enterprise in that shot. We all know who is on the Enterprise. You see Sarek and Burnham look at each other, and there you have it.”
She was also asked about the difficulties of setting a show between two branches of the franchise:
“Alex Kurtzman, who helped create the show with Bryan Fuller, who obviously worked very closely with JJ for his franchise of Star Trek films, said, ‘I know a lot of people are asking why he didn’t ever mention her,’ He was like, ‘Trust us. There will be an explanation.’” The Walking Dead actress recalled. “That’s what happens when you come into this time period where you’re couched between two iterations,” Martin-Green continued.
Star Trek: Discovery is currently filming its second season for release later this year via CBS All Access and Netflix.
