‘Wonder Woman 2’ rumoured to feature Cheetah as lead villain

Talk in the DC Films Universe is beginning to turn to the upcoming production of Wonder Woman 2. Initially we had heard that Patty Jenkins would get cameras rolling from ‘summer’ of this year. Now we are hearing that shooting may begin as early as May 2018 here in London.
Rumours reported by That Hashtag Show point to film following Diana into the 1980s. Here is where things get a little confusing, this is where she will somehow reunite with Steve Trevor to take on the now dissolved Soviet Union. Could this be a nod to the time shift in the classic Wonder Woman TV series where Steve remained and became the son of the original Steve Trevor?
The report goes on to state that Cheetah is all but officially confirmed as the films main villain. It is said that the studio has been pursuing actress Emma Stone. We understand that she has in fact passed on taking up the offer. It does seem that the studio are after a big name to go up against Gal Gadot this time around.
Dr. Barbara Minerva, alias Cheetah is a British archaeologist who had garnered a reputation to go to any lengths to secure an artifact. Born as the heiress of a vast fortune in the ancient family site in Nottinghamshire, her life would change dramatically following an expedition she led into a dense African jungle. She was searching for the legendary lost city of the Urzkartagan tribe. Deep within the jungle, her team was betrayed by their guides and ambushed by the Urzkartagans.
When Chuma explained there must be a sacrifice, Minerva murdered Dr. Leavens, who had returned just long enough to free them from the cave in and forfeit his life. After she had killed him and drank his blood, the ritual began. Even as Chuma worked tirelessly, the invaders who had destroyed the temple were returning. The ritual complete, Minerva was transformed into Cheetah and slaughtered all the invaders.
