It’s been a week of trailers, first was ‘TMNT: Out of the Shadows‘ and now ‘Star Trek Beyond’! Taking over the reigns from J. J. Abrams (who remains as producer) ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise director Justin Lin takes over the directors chair to bring to life the script from Simon Pegg, Doug Jung, Roberto Orci, John D. Payne and Patrick McKay.
Much like the new ‘TMNT’ film details on the plot are sparse but a synopsis currently circulating reads:
The USS Enterprise crew, led by Captain James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), have been attacked by a powerful unstoppable wave of unknown aliens, who destroy the Enterprise, leaving them stranded on a new planet where they find themselves in conflict with a new ruthless enemy.
‘Star Trek Beyond’ hits cinemas July 22nd 2016 and stars series regulars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin alongside franchise newcomers Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Joe Taslima and Lydia Wilson.
