The Giant Kokju #3 is published by Image Comics, written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Scott Koblish.

Issue #3 is available 14th June 2023 either directly from Image Comics online or from your local comic book store, digital copies will be available to download from the usual content providers.

    Synopsis

Frank’s hands are firmly on the problem while he pilots the mech into its greatest battle against the horny Kokju monster. With his family watching the fight things get unexpectedly physical. The best way to safely describe our wrap is that it goes from the naked sauna fight from EASTERN PROMISES into kind of like…HANDS ON A HARD BODY.

    Review

The finale of this monster romping mini series is here and ties up the story that sees Frank get his hands firmly around the situation. As the Kokju monster’s “needs” looks set to destroy the city there’s only one man that knows what to do and that’s Frank, pilot of the Vindicator Five, an elite fighting machine once commissioned by the US to be the ultimate in military defense and also big enough to take on this aroused monster, this issue has an explosive ending in more ways than one.

Without going into too much detail and spoiling the ending for readers, how the Vindicator takes down the colossal Kokju is shall we say inventive as well as effective and will definitely leave you thinking “what have I just read”

This mini-series has been a joy to read, the creative team of Gerry Duggan and Scott Koblish have given us a tongue in cheek spin on the superhero epic scale battle that we never knew we needed to see, Gerry provides an epic story that has the potential to evolve into something huge that constantly ridicules itself at every opportunity. The story definitely has that at times silly Deadpool comedy injected into it and it fully works. I felt a mixture of shock when I read the first issue and joy at the laugh out loud moments it gave me as I enjoyed the shear silliness of the story.

The illustrations of the series from Scott Koblish are “detailed” to say the least, I never thought I’d see the day when I saw monster “manhood”. The overall illustrations are colourful and impactful giving the story the energy it needs, although definitely not for the easily offended.

    Verdict

Overall a good bit of comic fun, has all the action you’d want from a comic mixed with a bit of gutter humour, if like me you have that sense of humour then this series is right up your street.
