Gasoline Alley is an upcoming American action thriller film directed by Edward John Drake and starring Devon Sawa, Bruce Willis and Luke Wilson. Watch Gasoline Alley on Altitude.film and other digital platforms now.

    Synopsis

man implicated in the triple homicide of three Hollywood starlets begins his own investigation. Needing assistance, he enlists the two detectives on his tail in order to expose a conspiracy more explosive than any of them ever imagined.

    Review

If you’ve read my previous reviews you will know that I’m kind of into most films that Bruce Willis does for me he just optimises the action hero even still he’s now in his twilight years, so with that said when I got the chance to see his latest release Gasoline Alley. I was quite excited to see if his legacy lives on.

The film centres around the killing of female sex workers and the finger being pointed at loveable rogue tattoo artist Jimmy Jayne (played by Devon Sawa) who protests his innocence from the start but circumstances do make it a bit suspicious. Two detectives assigned to the case Vargas and Freeman (played by Bruce Willis and Luke Wilson) Vargas being the detective that’s out to impress and doing it by the book on the other side you have Freeman who is the battlescared detective who’s been around the block a few times and just gets things done at whatever cost.

The film seems to stall a bit in the first quarter with it struggling to find it’s feet in terms of story but as Jimmy Jayne turns vigilante to clear his name it gets hotter at a fast pace. As the film progresses we see more and more corruption and the finger of suspicion begins to point in other directions, this is a gritty drama filled “whodunit” which will keep you guessing until the end. Although the story is a bit predictable it is portrayed well and I think Devon Sawa as the rugged lead was the perfect casting who carries the plot well and owns the screen.

Director Edward John Drake has supplied a good job in direction with a gritty cop drama with twists and turns so much so you begin to wonder who you can trust.

    Verdict

A good watch with a solid, yet predictable, plot. Bruce Wills’ continues to succeed in his genre of choice, the good old beer-and-pizza action film.
