The nights are beginning to draw in and Halloween is fast approaching. So it’s about time to start planning what we want to watch as horror season is upon us. Today we’re taking a look at all the titles which will be hitting premiere horror platform Shudder in September.

New and exclusive film premieres in September include:

    Superhost – Premieres 2 September

Teddy and Claire are travel vloggers who run a channel called “SUPERHOST” where they travel and share their experiences in and around vacation homes and, until recently, had become successful doing it. With a dwindling subscriber count, they find the perfect opportunity to create content that people want to see when they meet Rebecca, the host of their most recent trip. Slowly they start to realise that something isn’t right with Rebecca, and as they investigate it further, they unlock a horrifying truth. She doesn’t just want a great review, she wants something far worse. Written and directed by Brandon Christensen. Starring Sara Canning, Osric Chau, Gracie Gilliam and Barbara Crampton.

Martyrs Lane – Premieres 9 September

Leah, 10, lives in a large, run down vicarage with her parents and hostile older sister. She can’t quite work out why her mother seems distant and is fascinated by the locket she wears around her neck. At night the vicarage seems to come alive with sounds. One morning, Leah spots the locket left on the bathroom shelf. She opens it and steals what she finds inside, sparking a chain of events that will turn the sounds that she hears at night into something much more frightening. Written and directed by Ruth Platt. Starring Denise Gough, Anastasia Hille and Steven Cree.

    Séance – Premieres 29 September

Camille Meadows is the new girl at the prestigious Edelvine Academy for Girls. Soon after her arrival, six girls invite her to join them in a late-night ritual, calling forth the spirit of a dead former student who reportedly haunts their halls. But before morning, one of the girls is dead, leaving the others wondering what they may have awakened. Written and directed by Simon Barrett. Starring Suki Waterhouse, Madisen Beaty and Inanna Sarkis.

September will also mark the premieres of two of Shudder’s original series:

Creepshow: Season 3 – Premieres 23 September ** New Episodes Every Thursday

Based on the 1982 horror comedy classic, the anthology Creepshow returns for a third season and is still the most fun you’ll ever have being scared! A comic book comes to life in a series of vignettes, exploring terrors ranging from murder, creatures, monsters, and delusions to the supernatural and unexplainable.  You never know what will be on the next page.

Slasher: Flesh & Blood – New Episodes Every Thursday to 16th September

Starring horror legend David Cronenberg (The Fly, Videodrome), Slasher: Flesh & Blood follows a wealthy, dysfunctional family that gathers for a reunion on a secluded island only to learn they’ll be pitted against one another in a cruel game of life and death, all while being stalked by a mysterious masked killer. Nothing is what it seems, and no one is safe as the tension – and body count – ratchets up.
