Synopsis
Scarlett awakens to find a wondrous surprise but as she sets out on her “greatest adventure yet” she begins to realise that all is not as it seems… and that her destiny cannot be escaped.
Review
Scarlett VS is a new project funded by a Kickstarter campaign started by writer and creator Graeme Buchan. Now personally I love coming across new storylines and comics I can get my teeth into, getting into something different and Scarlett VS definitely seems to be different.
The story follows a young lady, Scarlett as she awakens to find a magical golden ticket waiting for her, but the problem is many other shady characters are after that ticket, it looks like Scarlett’s day may well not turn out as she may have originally thought.
Buchan brings us a new story arc with an Alice in Wonderland mixed with Buffy The Vampire Slayer feel to it with lots of action to keep you entertained, I have hopeful for this arc that it will grow into an action packed story of mind blowing fantasy and mind twisting characters. Molinares certainly knows how to grab the readers attention with plenty of eye catching bold colours and beautifully detailed illustrations making a really nice looking book.
Verdict
If you like your stories a bit more twisted and fantasy styled then look no further Scarlett VS should tick the boxes for you.
