Whilst fans wait for Marvel Studios to confirm who is taking over the directors chair on Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, there are plenty of rumours as to how, why and at what stage the change in leadership took place.
Yesterday rumours began to circulate that Marvel is bringing in a new writers to take a stab at re-working the script for the film but now it seems that may not be the case. We reported on the story that Loki writer Michael Waldron is currently working on the script.
Overnight, Scott Derrickson’s co-writer, C. Robert Cargill, took to twitter to confirm where the pair had gotten to with their own version of the film.
“Since it keeps coming up in news stories, it’s worth noting that Scott and I never had the opportunity to write a draft of MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS,” said Cargill. “So whatever they are working with now isn’t derivative of our work. I am of course very excited to see where they take Stephen next.”

We continue to eagerly await more news on the upcoming sequel and whether Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will indeed take over directing duties.
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set for a May 7, 2021 release date.
