As Disney gears up for the launch of its new Disney+ streaming service in November, production continues to move forwards on the various Marvel Studios projects announced to join the lineup over the next few months.
Variety is reporting that Pitch Perfect and Bumblee star Hailee Steinfeld has been offered the role of Kate Bishop in the upcoming Hawkeye series.
At this time it is thought that Hawkeye will centre on Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton coming to terms with the events of this year’s Avengers: Endgame and passion on the mantle too Kate.
The trade adds that starring in Hawkeye represents “a long-term investment in Steinfeld on Marvel’s part” with the character likely to get her own series eventually or appear on the big screen down the line.
