DC Universe launches this Saturday, which also happens to be Batman Day, and in readiness we’re getting a whole load of new Titans content. Yesterday we brought you galleries for the series pilot episode “Titans”and second episode “Hawk & Dove.”
Today we have even more photos for you to check out. Believe it or not up to this stage we haven’t seen a photo of the team assembled. So here it is, our first look at the Titans!
We can’t help but notice that Robin’s costume features a serious nod to his 1960s pixie boots. Starfire also has never looked so fierce. The photo was published in the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly.
Star Brenton Thwaites spoke with the magazine about making the show saying “My favorite scenes [were] fighting [alongside] those guys because, one, I feel like the actors that were cast were all brilliant and lovely to work with, and we all got along really well. But also, the scenes were quite difficult and [we had] night shoots in the winter in the snow, so I feel like that camaraderie just in the actors alone hopefully transfers to the TV.”
Next up IGN has an exclusive look at Jason Todd, played here by Curran Walters. We’d heard rumours that Jason would be appearing but what we hadn’t expected was to see him in costume!
It looks from these picks that both Jason and Dick have very similar Robin costumes and it seems there’s some genuine beef between the two of them. It should be really interesting to see Jason in live action for the first time.
Speaking of the character showrunner Greg Walker said:
“What I really love about [Jason] as a character is the unbridled sense of self that he has – there’s a lack of… maybe self-awareness, but for sure self-consciousness in terms of how he comports himself and how he moves through the world. He’s completely seemingly unaffected by darkness – he kind of embraces it or walks right through it. He’s a breath of fresh air and that’s what I love about him, he’s got a punk rock, no-holds-barred attitude that’s massively unburdened. There’s a lot of energy that comes with that.”
DC Universe will launch in North America on September 15, 2018.
